Best Practices

Library's and Information Services for Immigrants

[Stockholm Public Library, Sweden]
The library is trying very hard to build a multilingual staff. This enables library service to patrons in their own language as well as the collection, acquisition and cataloging of items from any language read, understood or spoken by a staff member. Staff is hired for this language ability and trained as needed in library skills.
The Stockholm Public Library also has its International Library in an annex of the Central Library.
